Features in this article may not be included in every Funraise plan.
After creating a Giving Form, you'll land in the Giving Form Editor where you can configure a lot of settings to maximize each Giving Form for perfect donation experience you're looking for.
In this article:
Settings
Design
General Settings
Form Name
The name for the form.
Goal Amount
Optional. Set an internal goal for the form and track progress to your goal. This is an internal goal and is helpful for your team when reviewing form progress. If you're looking for a public goal progress bar, you'll want to create a Campaign Site.
Contact Information
The contact information you'd like to collect from each donor.
Email address — is always required with a donation and can not be configured.
Phone number — can be hidden, optional, or required.
Address — can be hidden, optional, or required.
Shipping address — can be hidden, optional, or required. Shipping address is only used when Donation Premiums are added to a form.
Allow institution contacts — When toggled on, donors will be able make a donation on behalf of an institution (Foundation, Corporation, etc.) and enter the name of the institution for the gift.
Allow title prefix & suffix — when toggled on, donors will be able to select from your list of available prefixes and suffixes. Your available options can be configured in Settings > Your Organization > Name prefixes/suffixes
Communication Preferences
When toggled on, the email communication opt-in checkbox on the form will be checked by default. Donors will still always have an option to opt-in or out of email and SMS communication.
Tags
Add Supporter tags or Transaction tags to donations that occur through this form. Any tags added here will be automatically applied to future transactions through teh form.
☝️ Supporter tags are particularly helpful here as they will allow you to easily filter a Supporter list to see donors who gave to a particular campaign. If the form you're creating is a special campaign, for example, Giving Tuesday or Spring Fling, we recommend adding a supporter tag, like GivingTuesday2026 or SpringFling2026.
Tickets
You can add Tickets to any Giving Form. When Tickets are added to a form, the Giving Form will become a ticket form and tickets will be selected from the first screen of the form.
Adding tickets to a Giving Form will also change the options available in the Payments settings tab. With tickets added, you'll be able to toggle on a Donation Ask if you'd like to add an optional donation to the checkout flow. This is a common strategy for ticket events as the registrant is already conducting a payment — adding an optional donation is an easy way to increase impact of your event.
Premiums
You can add Premiums to any Giving Form.
Premiums are incentives or thank you gifts offered to donors when they make a contribution. They’re often used to encourage giving, promote loyalty, or highlight a campaign.
Questions
You can add custom questions to any Giving Form. When questions are added to a Giving Form, you can mark them as optional or required. Answers to questions answered with a donation will be visible on both the Transaction profile and the Supporter profile.
Payments
The Payments section has many important settings that determine the payment methods, amounts, and frequencies available to donors.
Ask Amount
There are two Ask Amount strategies. In almost all cases, you will use Suggested.
Suggested
Provide four suggested donation amount buttons on the form
Donors can select a suggested amount or manually enter their own amount
You can select one of the suggested amounts to be defaulted (preselected).
Required
Require an exact donation amount
Used for payments that have an exact amount, like memberships
For more advanced custom donation experiences, the required amount value can be overridden by developer tools (HTML, JS, or Url Parameters).
Payment Methods
Payment methods available depend on your processors connected in Settings > Gateways. Options include:
Card
eCheck
Bitcoin (Crypto)
Apple Pay
PayPal (also includes Venmo)
Stock
DAF Pay
Frequency
Select donation frequencies available for your donors. In most cases, we recommend including One Time and Monthly.
You can also select a default (preselected) frequency that will be selected when the form is launched by clicking the star icon. Donors can always choose their desired frequency.
Transaction Options
Provide additional donation options to your donors. These details can be hidden or made optional.
Dedications
Allow donors to dedicate their donation. Dedication types include
in honor ofin memory ofinspired by
For each of these Dedication types, donors can enter the following information
dedication namededication email(optional)dedication message(optional)
If a valid dedication email is entered, an email will be sent to the dedication email address with information about the donation dedication.
Anonymous
When activated, a donor can choose to donate anonymously. When a donor donates anonymously, their name will be displayed on public feeds as "Anonymous". The donor's name and information will be accessible inside the platform for organization users.
Comment
Enable a donor to leave a comment with their donation.
Company Match
A donor can activate company matching processes during their donation. You'll need to activate the Double the Donation integration to use this feature.
Allocations
Select an existing Allocation or create a new Allocation. You can configure the order that Allocations appear in the selection list.
If only one Allocation is added to the form, it will be recored with all Transactions, but the donor will not see the Allocation selection.
If two or more Allocations are added to the form, the donor can select an Allocation.
Receipt
Each Giving Form has a unique donation receipt email template that is sent to donors who make a donation through this form.

Power Ups
Giving Forms have several revenue boosting features we call Power Ups. These are optional tools that you can activate based on your particular strategies. In most cases, we recommend activating all Power Ups.
Abandoned Cart Notification
When a donor abandons their donation (closes a Giving Form after beginning their donation), a small notification can appear in the lower-left of the donor's browser window encouraging them to continue with a one-click option to re-enter the donation flow, right where they left off.

Recurring Upgrade
When Recurring Upgrade is activated, donors who select a one-time donation equal to or less than $100 will be invited to convert their one-time donation into a smaller but recurring monthly donation.

Design Settings
Each Giving Form can have a unique design.
Form Logo
A logo can be added to the top of the Giving Form. If a logo is not added to the Form, a default "Donate Securely" icon and text will appear.
☝️ While it's not possible to remove the default logo, if you prefer to not have any logo on the form at all, you can upload a tiny (1px x 1px) white image, which will have the same visual effect as having no logo.
Popup Headline
You can add small text to the top of the form which is useful if a donor needs helpful context or information about the donation. In general, we do not recommend using a headline unless it's needed.
Colors
Button Color — usually your primary brand color. Make sure your button color has strong contrast so it's easy to see.
Button Text Color — the color of the main buttons on the bottom of the form. This is often white.
Popup Background Color — the color of the background screen behind the form. We recommend a dark grey/black so that the white form pops visually from the page.
