You can use purpose built check-in interfaces on your desktop, tablet, or mobile device. Funraise's event check-in tools are designed to help your event team provide a fast welcome experience for guests and to ensure that each guest is "check-in" ready at the door.
The primary functionality of event check-in includes:
Ensuring each guests is on the list
Finding important information for each guest as they arrive, including their paddle number, table assignment, and answers to any registration questions
Ensuring each guest has all the information you require from your guests, including contact information, communication preferences, and payment methods
Capturing and storing a. payment method at the door
Check-in can happen via the desktop platform or the Funraise mobile app.
Check-in on the desktop platform
Guests can be marked as "checked-in" from the Attendees section.
1. From your Event > click Attendees
2. Enter the name of the guest to search > click Check in
3. Confirm or edit the guests communication preferences > click Check in
☝️ It's a good idea to confirm the guest approves being contacted by both SMS (text message) and email. SMS messages are particular important if your guests are participating in a Funraise auction as they can receive updates on their bids via text message.
4. Guests that have checked in will show Attended in their attendee detail row.
Confirming and editing guest information during check in
When checking in guests, you can also click on their attendee detail row to reveal more information including the guests paddle number, table assignment, registration question answers, contact information, and whether or not they have a payment method on file.
In the desktop platform, you can add a payment method by entering it manually.
Check-in on the Funraise mobile app
The Funraise mobile app provides a similar check in experience, but with more features. The app check in interface can be used with a phone or tablet device.
In the Funraise App menu > select Events > select the current event.
You'll land on the event manager screen where you can check in guest. |

Scroll to Search attendees and enter the guest name, ticket, email, or phone to search guests.
Click on the attendee to review their information and complete check in. |

You can review each guest's information before checking them in.
Here you view the guest's paddle number, table assignment, contact information, communication preferences, and whether or not they hav a payment method on file.
If you are missing any important required information, you'll see a prompt to enter those before checking in the guest. The information that is required for check in can be configured from Event > Attendees > Configure required info (link coming) |

If the guest does not have a payment method on file, you'll be able to add one from this screen.
Adding a payment method during check in requires a connected Stripe M2 Reader. This flow is described in detail below.

As your guests are checked in, you'll be able to see how many guests have arrived and the overall percentage of guests that have arrived. |

Capture a payment method during check in
When using the Funraise app on iOS, you can capture and store a payment method (card) as your guest check in. This payment method will be stored for the supporter and ready to use after your event to charge any auction bid payments or paddle raise commitments. Storing a payment method requires a connected Stripe M2 Reader. Apple device native tap-to-pay is coming soon!

On an attendee profile, scroll to Payment Methods > click Add payment method |

Confirm with the guest that their card will be saved on file. Storing a card does not require a payment. When you're ready > click Cardholder agrees
If you do not have a Stripe M2 Bluetooth Reader device connected, you will be prompted to connect a new device with step-by-step instructions. |

Now you can use the Stripe M2 Reader to swipe, insert, or tap the card.
