New to Subscriptions?
We recommend reviewing Subscriptions 101 for an overview of what's possible with Funraise's recurring subscriptions.

Create a Subscription

In most cases, recurring subscriptions will be created by your donors when they make a donation on your Giving Form. Donors can select a frequency that you enable: Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly.

You can also create a subscription inside Funraise. To create a subscription from inside Funraise:

1. In the sidemenu click Supporters > Subscriptions > click New Subscription

2. Enter required fields > click Save

Required details to create a Subscription:

  • Amount

  • Frequency

  • Currency

  • First Payment Date

  • Supporter

  • Payment Method

  • Giving Form (technically, not required but highly recommended)

Edit a Subscription

Once a Subscription exists, it can be edited, paused, cancelled, or scheduled to be cancelled at a future date. Generally, the easiest way to access an existing Subscription is via the Supporter's profile.

1. Access the Supporter's profile (search in top bar)

2. Select Subscriptions

3. Click the underlines name or the actions menu (3dots) to access the Subscription profile

4. Edit the Subscription > click Save

Common Subscription Actions

Pause a Subscription

A subscription can be paused until a future date.

1. From the Subscription profile > General > Settings > click Edit

2. Edit Next payment date > click Save

Set a cancel date

By default, Subscriptions run indefinitely. You can set an end date to automatically cancel a Subscription on a future date.

1. From the Subscription profile > click Actions > click Set End Date

2. Configure end date > click Save end date

Cancel a subscription

Donors can cancel their subscription via the Donor Portal. You can also cancel a Subscription inside Funraise.

1. From the Supporter's profile > click Subscriptions

2. Click the actions menu (3 dots) > click Cancel Subscription
