Use Funraise's subaccounts to manage assets and activity across multiple connected accounts. You can analyze combined data from connected accounts or drill down into account-specific data. Subaccounts can be used by chapter-based organizations, foundations, and other multi-organization structures.
Activate subaccounts
Our team can help you activate subaccounts and add new accounts to your hierarchy structure. To activate or adjust your subaccounts, please contact us at support@funraise.org.
Hierarchy structure
Funraise's subaccount hierarchy enables many accounts to be managed under one umbrella account. You can also manage multiple tiers of subaccounts. An admin team member in a parent account (an account with subaccounts) can manage all subaccounts.
For example, the following structures are possible:
Single tier
Better World National
Better World East
Better World West
In this case, an admin team member in the Better World National account would have access to manage both Better World East and Better World West accounts. A team member in Better World East could only view and manage their account.
Multi-tier
Better World National
Better World East
Better World Miami
Better World Boston
Better World West
Better World Los Angeles
Better World Seatle
In this case, an admin team member in the Better World National account can manage all the subaccounts. Admin team members in Better World West can manage Better World Los Angeles and Better World Seatle.
Admin and Reporting
Log into a subaccount
β Admins only
You must have admin permissions to log into a subaccount. Learn more about user permission settings.
Log into a subaccount by accessing Settings > Subaccounts and clicking Log In
When an admin team member from a parent account logs into a subaccount, they will be able to view and manage everything in the subaccount.
Manage a subaccount
Inside the subaccount, the parent account team member can view and manage everything in the subaccount as if they were an admin team member in that account. This enables the parent account team member to check in on individual account data or assets like forms or sites. As a parent account team member, you might also log in to set up your subaccounts, including settings, reporting templates, or Campaign Site templates.
When a team member of a parent account logs into a subaccount, a banner will appear at the top of the window with the name of the current account and a link to return back to the team member's primary account.
Report on subaccounts
A parent account's Fundraising Intelligence data will include all their subaccount's data. This means that a parent account can build custom reports and dashboards with their entire subaccount hierarchy's data.
Inside Fundraising Intelligence, each subaccount can be identified by it's Organization Id
. This unique Id enables custom reporting based on aggregated account data or data from a single account in the hierarchy.
It's good to know that while an admin role is required to log into a subaccount, any team member in a parent account with access to Fundraising Intelligence can report on all subaccount data.
