Create, edit, and manage manual or automated tasks

What are Tasks?

Funraise Tasks enable smart donor follow-up and streamlined team collaboration. You can create individual one-off tasks for yourself or teammates or set up task automations that generate tasks based on donation activity.

For example, you might create a task and an email notification to personally thank donors who give more than $100.

You can receive email and dashboard notifications when new tasks are assigned to you. Tasks also integrate with Supporter interactions and can be configured to automatically create an interaction upon completion.

Create a Single Task

1. Navigate to Tasks > click New Task

2. Configure Task details > click Save

Enter a subject or very short summary of the task

Due Date

Select the task’s due date

Assign this task to

Choose the team member responsible for the task

Response Type

Select the type of response or action. This helps categorize the task.

Task Note

Provide any details the assignee needs to complete the task

Supporter

Optionally associate the task with a Supporter

If a Supporter is selected, you’ll also be able to choose whether a Supporter Interaction should be created when the task is completed.


Create a Task Automation

Task Automations generate tasks based on Transaction activity. They’re ideal when you need to consistently follow up on specific types of donations—for example, creating a Task for all donations over $100.

1. Navigate to Tasks > Automations > click New Automations

2. Configure the Automation Settings

Enter a subject or very short summary of the task

Assign this task to

Choose the team member responsible for this task

Response Type

Select the type of response or action. This helps categorize the task.

Task Note

Provide details to assist the assignee in completing the task

Reassign supporter based on this task

Should the Supporter be moved to the portfolio of the team member assigned to this task?

Create interactions when this task is completed

Should this completed task appear in the Supporter's interaction history?

3. Configure the Transaction Filters

Tasks will be created when a Transaction occurs that matches all defined filters. Note: All filters are combined with AND logic, so each condition must be true for the task to be generated.

Managing Task Automations

Once a Task Automation has been created, you can access and manage the automation settings from Tasks > Automations.

Inside a Task Automation, you can update the settings or automation rules. You can also view all the tasks that have been created by the automation.


Manage Tasks & Notifications

Once a task is created, there are several ways to view it and receive notifications.

View & Search Tasks

View all tasks on the main Tasks page. By default, you'll see Tasks that are assigned to you and pending. You can adjust the filters to review any type of Task.

Tasks also appear on the Supporter's profile

Pending tasks are displayed on the Supporter’s Tasks / Interactions page. If the Task is configured to create an interaction upon completion, it will appear in the interaction table once completed.

To receive a Task notification email for new Tasks that are assigned to you, you'll need to check that box in Settings > Your Profile
