Two-Step Authentication enables your team to increase data security by adding an additional layer of authentication. Two-Step Verification requires a secondary point of authentication, which can be your mobile device with an authenticator app or just your email. You will need access to this secondary authentication whenever you login to Funraise.

☝️ Two-Step Authentication will soon be required

Today, Funraise's Two-Step Authentication is an optional layer of security. We'll soon be requiring multi-factor authentication for all users. As a part of this enhancement, we're introducing an email authentication method for those who prefer email over an authenticator app.

As we roll out this new requirement, you may be required to set up Two-Step Authentication before logging in.

Funraise is a PCI Level 1 certified service provider, the highest standard possible for payment processing service providers. This enhancement builds upon our commitment to the security of your data.

Enable Two-Step Verification

1. In the top left of any page > click your user profile > click Settings

2. On Your Profile > Find 2-Step Verification > click Edit

3. Select your preferred authentication method (Email or App) > Follow the instructions to activate the verification method.

☝️ You only need one method: either email or app.

Activate Email Verification

To set up 2-step verification with email, start by clicking the button to send yourself a verification email that will contain a 6-digit code. Copy and paste that code into the field labeled, 2-Step Verification Code and click Save.

Activate App Verification

To set up 2-step verification with an authentication app, you'll need an authentication app on your mobile device. If you do not already use an authentication app on your device, we suggest Google Authenticator iOS or Android.

Add Funraise 2-step codes to your authentication app by scanning the QR code on your setup screen. Then enter the code from your authenticator app into the field labeled, 2-Step Verification Code and click Save.

After successfully enabling Two-Step Verification, the status will appear as Enabled.

Disable 2-Step Verification

1. In Settings > Your Profile > Find 2-Step Verification > click Edit

2. Select the method you have active (email or app) > Follow the instructions to disable your authentication method.

  • For email verification, click to send yourself the verification code email and then copy and paste that code into the field labeled, 2-Step Verification Code and click Save.

  • For app verification, open your authenticator app to get the active code. Enter the code into the field labeled, 2-Step Verification Code and click Save.
