What are Tasks?

Funraise Tasks enable smart donor follow up. Create automated task lists and notifications for yourself or members of your team based on specific types of Transactions. For example, you might create a task and email notification to personally thank donors who give more than $100.

Create an Automated Task

1. Navigate to Tasks > click New Task Automation

2. Configure the Automation Settings

Automation Settings

Automation name

Provide a helpful name for the automation.

Assign this task to

When a task is created, it will be assigned to the team member selected.

Response type

Select the appropriate response from the list.

Task color

A helpful indicator for tasks created through this automation.

Task note

A brief instructions or notes about the automation or the appropriate response

Reassign supporter based on this task

Should the Supporter that made the Transaction be assigned to the team member's portfolio?

Create interactions when this task is completed

When a task is completed, should the completed task appear in the interaction history on the Supporter's Profile?

3. Next, click Automation > Configure Transaction Filters > Click Save

When a Transaction occurs that matches these filters, a Task will be created. Reminder, filters are combined with AND, so all filter rules must be true for a task to be created.

☝️ Task notification emails

If you would also like to receive a task notification email for new tasks that are assigned to you, you'll need to check a box on your Your Profile in Settings.

Managing Task Automations

Once a Task Automation has been created, you can access and mange the automation settings from Tasks > Automations.

Inside a Task Automation, you can update the settings or automation rules. You can also view all the tasks that have been created by the automation.

Automation Tasks can be filters by Assignee or Status:

To complete a task, just click the checkbox in the Response column:

Searching Tasks

While each Task Automation profile will display tasks for that specific automation, you can also view all tasks on the main Tasks page — which can come in handy if you're managing your donor follow up strategy with multiple team members.

When you land on the Tasks section, a default Assigned to filter is applied to display just tasks that are assigned to you. You can edit or add filters to view any task in your organization.

For example, a common filter to add is Status > equals > Pending, to see all the tasks assigned to you that require attention:

☝️ Tasks also appear on the Supporter's profile

In-complete tasks also appear on each Supporter's profile on the Interactions page. If the Task Automation has Create interactions when this task is completed checked, a completed task will also appear in the Interaction table.
