Google reCAPTCHA is one of many tools that Funraise employs to mitigate fraud. Learn more about Funraise's fraud mitigation toolset.

Google reCAPTCHA is a free service that protects your website from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA uses an advanced risk analysis engine and adaptive challenges to keep automated software (bots) from engaging in abusive activities on your site. It does this while letting your valid users pass through with ease.

Funraise Giving Forms have a built-in integration with Google reCAPTCHA. This integration is automatically enabled and does not require configuration.

There are two ways that reCAPTCHA can appear on a Giving Form: when it's been automatically activated by Funraise or when it's been manually activated by you.

Automatic dynamic reCAPTCHA

reCAPTCHA can be automatically activated on a Giving Form when Funraise detects fraud patterns on your Giving Forms. For example, a high volume of donations coming from a single IP address. By dynamically displaying reCAPTCHA, your forms provide the most efficient donation process and experience for your donors while still mitigating bot attacks.

If Funraise activates reCAPTCHA, you can see this activation from your Giving Form Editor > Settings > General > Google reCAPTCHA.

Manually activate reCAPTCHA

You can also manually activate reCAPTCHA for any Giving Form at any time. To manually activate reCAPTCHA access your Giving Form Editor > Settings > General > Google reCAPTCHA > Toggle the setting to on and click Save.
