Resolve duplicate Supporter profiles with the Supporter merge tool.

You can also merge Households.

Merge Supporters:

1. From a Supporter's Action menu (3 dots) > click Merge Supporter

This is the Supporter profile you want to keep. We call this the Merge Winner 🥇

2. Click Add Supporter > search and select the losing Supporter

The Merge Loser is the profile you want to remove after data is merged.

3. Click Merge

What happens when you merge Supporters

1. The following data from the Merge Loser will be added to the Merge Winner:

  • Transactions

  • Payment Methods

  • Interactions

  • Registrations

  • Orders

  • Questions

  • Subscriptions

    • Active recurring Subscriptions from the Merge Loser are transferred to the Merge Winner and will remain active

  • Fundraising Pages (Details below)

2. The Merge Loser profile will be deleted

  • Contact information from the Merge Loser will be lost

  • Pending campaign emails targeting the Merge Loser will be cancelled

Fundraising Pages

Fundraising Pages have specific behavior when supporter profiles are merged.

If the merge loser has a published fundraising page, the merge will fail. A supporter with a published page can not be merged. If you need to merge (lose) a supporter with a published fundraising page, you will first need to archive any published pages.

If the merge winner and the merge loser both have a fundraising page on the same Campaign Site:

  • Transactions are moved from merge loser’s page to merge winner’s page

  • Transactions that went towards the merge loser page’s fundraising commitment goes towards the merge winner page’s fundraising commitment

  • If the merge loser is a member of a team, but the merge winner is not; the merge winner becomes a member of the team

If the merge winner doesn’t have a page, but the merge loser does:

  • The page is transferred to the merge winner

  • If the merge loser has a fundraising commitment, then the merge winner is still responsible for the commitment

  • If the merge loser is a member of a team, then the merge winner will still be part of the team
